How to Choose a Professional Dog Trainer?
Finding a professional dog trainer may seem to be a daunting task. The industry has begun to establish standards and an independent certification process. For more information on that process, refer to the CCPDT, the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
Best Friends Dog Academy Owner Liz Ford is a CPDT-KA. This certification means she passed the CCPDT application process and exam covering the science of learning theory, animal husbandry, instruction skills, equipment, ethology. The CCPDT application process also requires extensive experience "hands on" training humans and training dogs. Maintaining this certification requires an ongoing commitment to continued education.
